Close by there are thermal baths with full on beauty & spa treatments, art galleries, theatre, cinema, ice hockey, snowshoeing and there’s no problem in watching UK football and rugby matches live on the door step.  Or you might cook for therapy and then browse the local markets to take advantage of the superb local produce .

Galleries, shops and thermal baths

Geneva is only an hour from the chalet’s door with international art galleries, museums, theatre and shops a plenty to keep you busy.  Although it’s Switzerland there’s definitely a French attitude with restaurants and coffee bars from which to watch the world go by.

Evian on the banks of Lake Geneva is famous for its thermal baths and renowned casino as well as for where the famous spring water comes from.  It’s only a little more than half an hour down the valley.

Text Box: Winter activities
Chalet Belle Dranse

If you don’t ski and want to relax but do more than curl up on a sofa then there’s far more than you might believe.  Or you might just want a day off from the slopes.

Snowshoeing (Racquettes)

This is great fun and makes it easy for the family to be together besides working up an appetite for a long lunch.  You can walk almost anywhere - up to the Mines d’Or above Morzine is an easy route with wonderful views - or alongside the ski slopes.  Take the main ski-lifts up to the mountain to avoid the hard work out and then take in the spectacular views.  Snow shoes fit any normal walking boot or winter boot and can be hired from any ski shop for a few pounds.

Sledging

With fields behind the chalet, when there’s snow in the village then there’s the chance to pull the plastic “shovel” sledges out of the garage and have a laugh.
