Text Box: Winter activities
Chalet Belle Dranse

If you don’t ski and want to relax but do more than curl up on a sofa then there’s far more than you might believe.  Or you might just want a day off from the slopes.

Reading and Films

Although you may bring your own, there are many books and videos in the Chalet.  On one of those ‘horrible’ days that happen every now and then or just because you need a rest then putting your feet up is pretty easy.

Cinemas

Morzine has two cinemas which alternate in showing one of the latest English language (sorry American language!) films each week.

Spectator Sports

If you like to watch your contact sports close up yet from a safe distance then ice hockey is it.  Regularly throughout the winter Morzine’s Ice Hockey team have a home league match and it’s well worth going along.  It’s at the Ice Rink at the Palais des Sports in the centre of Morzine.  The Tourist Information Office in St Jean (opposite Meubles et Montagne) will have a poster up otherwise there’ll be one in the Champion supermarket.

Therapy Cooking?

Not as strange as it sounds—one of our friends loves to do it.  The Chalet’s modern kitchen is fully kitted-out with cooking equipment and cook books besides quality fittings such as the oven, halogen hob and lots of work surface.  In fact it’s larger than our kitchen in England – deliberately so, as we put it in.  There are quite a few cook books, some of which you might recognise, and you will be able to get anything and everything you want from the Champion supermarket or the local shops.

There’s a second fridge freezer in the garage below if you decide to visit the supermarket once and once only.
