By Plane From Geneva Airport the main route is by motorway (A40) via Cluses and only takes an hour if that.
By Car If you are driving from the UK then the main A6 motorway route (Autoroute du Soleil) which you will have taken down through France connects with the A40 after Dijon at Bourg-en-Bresse. From there on it goes east to Geneva and then on to Chamonix.
By Train In its turn of the twentieth century hey-day the main method of getting to Chamonix was by train and it is still an option, being connected with the nation-wide French network. Take the TGV all the way through France to La Fayet and transfer onto the Mont Blanc Chamonix Express for the short journey up the valley to Chamonix itself.
Chamonix station is a short walking distance from the apartment, although a taxi will take the strain out of pulling luggage.
